Ferrari Xezri Concept The New Concept Car

 

The new concept car, which was published by Ferrari Xezri named Samir Sadikhov of Azerbaijan has actually won the second prize in the case of Ferrari World Design Contest of 2011 e This project helped IED concept car at the last stage in the process, the compact design is inspired by the aerodynamic wind force and acceleration is good to give a price for each passenger comfort. The calendar rolled over to 2000 eight years ago, though it doesn't seem like it's been that long. We had many jokes then about moving into the future, the most tapped being those of flying cars and jet packs.

According to the Telegraph,  the "air car" company known for the Moller Air Car has taken a Ferrari 599 GTB and made it airworthy, giving it Back To The Future-like hovering abilities for vertical take-off and landings, as well as wings and stabilizers for forward flight.
Not only that, the machine runs green with a hybrid engine that can propel the vehicle forward at an expected 150 mph.
While Moller predicts it could have production vehicles ready within two years at about US$800,000, we're still skeptical. Having seen how most people drive on the ground, is it smart to let them go into the air?

crisis Paris car show goes electric, looks to Asia  (AFP) – – Glamorous women draped themselves over gleaming vehicles and technicians plugged in electric cars Thursday as the world’s auto industry met in Paris to showcase dozens of new models and pray that crisis is behind it.  The worst global slump since the 1930s savaged the industry and it is now setting its sights on emerging markets like China and India to compensate for stagnating sales and fierce competition in Europe. “In 2010 we are dealing with a two-speed world,” said PSA Peugeot Citroen boss Philippe Varin as he presented the French firm’s new models at the Paris Motor Show.

In Europe carmakers are expecting a drop of seven percent in sales this year but in China they continue to rise rapidly, making it the biggest and fastest growing market and an eldorado for the industry.

Carmakers are hoping places like China, India and Brazil will snap up the models displayed at the show that opens to the public Saturday after press previews and a visit Friday by President Nicolas Sarkozy.

More than a million visitors were expected to flock to the huge exhibition halls to ogle shiny vehicles — and the pretty women employed to stand next to them — and see for themselves the latest innovations in the art of driving.

A major feature of this year’s exhibition is a range of electric cars — with the French leading the pack — ready to hit the road.

High glamour comes in the form of sports cars from Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini, while Renault and Citroen add a touch of fashion by showcasing cars they built in partnership with fashion brands Lacoste and Miss Sixty.

2010 Paris Motor Show: 2011 McLaren MP4-12C revealed The 2010 Paris Motor Show displayed the MP4-12C which is the latest project model from McLaren Automotive. The car as per McLaren is a pure breed for there is nothing which it has copied from any other car. The car is powered by a V8 engine of 3.8 liter capacity and delivering 600 bhp as well as 600 Nm of torque. The car is a rear wheel drive and incorporates two wet clutch system.

For transmission the car is installed with the seven speed Seamless Shift dual clutch gearbox (SSG) which has been developed by McLaren themselves. The system offers the driver a number of choices like: normal, sport, and automatic, launch control and winter. McLaren have always named their chassis as MP4, a tradition that has been going on since 1981. 12 in the Mp4-12C indicates the cars Vehicle Performance Index rating from their own internal test.

The primary material that has been used for the making of this car is carbon and it is from this that the C letter comes in the model name. That is the genesis of the name MP4-12C. In addition the car has a Carbon MonoCell for chasis which is a new development from McLaren and boosts overall performance of the car. The body is lowered and allows for use of lighter body panels. The Louvre in Paris has just opened a car exhibition that could turn auto dealers and panelbeaters Midrand   to Miami green with envy; the exhibition displays some of the most famous sports cars in Ralph Lauren’s collection, featuring designs from as far back as the 1930’s.

The Ralph Lauren car exhibition opened last week at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in the west wing of the Louvre; it will run until the end of August. Curator Rodolphe Rapetti chose 17 cars from the Ralph Lauren collection for the exhibition, titled L’Art de l’automobile. The chosen vehicles include the 1929 Blower Bentley, the 1955 Jaguar XKD and the incredibly rare 1938 Bugatti Atlantic. The Bugatti is likely to be the main attraction at the Ralph Lauren car exhibition, as it is one of only four models ever built!

Peugeot Design Competition Yields Future Car-Cycle  When French auto maker Peugeot holds a design competition, you can guarantee the results will be astounding, beautiful and quite experimental. This award winning design was submitted by 25-year-old Columbian designer Carlos Arturo Torres Tovar at the Paris Motor Show. His entry topped the polls with internet voters and impressed judges. The “RD” is a three-wheel, one seat city vehicle – half car, half motorcycle. The car will now become  1:1 scale design to be shown at April 2009′s Shanghai Motor Show.

Incredibly fast, but with the stability that comes from having four driven wheels, the Quattro was a star of the racing world that spawned, in 1984, the equally legendary road-going Sport Quattro. The only strange thing about the Audi Quattro Concept shown in Paris is why it took the German automaker so long to revive the famous model.

 

The Kia Pop Concept is a slick little wedge of silver that the company calls “a striking vision of future urban electric transport” meant “to act as a loose nucleus, a wild atom.” In case you’re wondering about the styling, you can’t compare it to anything you might see today.

 

It is the 2008 KTM X-Bow, an Austrian-funded, German-powered, Italian-engineered pocket-size supercar. It is what you get if an ambitiously minded European motorcycle manufacturer (KTM) and an open-minded German car manufacturer (Audi) get jiggy in the back of a camper van. And it can be yours in February 2008 for about $50,000.

 

The Latest, Greatest Track Toy
With the X-Bow, — pronounced like “crossbow” — KTM is unashamedly taking on Ariel, Lotus, Noble and Radical, the core of British manufacturers that have created an ever-growing market in racetrack-ready cars for weekend driving enthusiasts. That’s one of the reasons we’re here at Brands Hatch. KTM is intrigued, as are we, to gauge the reaction from punters attending a typical British track day.

 

KTM Sales Manager Florian Kecht is astonished by the reaction. Four serious orders are taken on the spot. “We knew Britain was a significant market for us, but now that I’ve seen a track day, I know why,” he says. “We have nothing like this in Austria — nothing.”

 

At the rear a similar pair of L-shaped panels encloses the engine compartment, their role seemingly undefined other than providing something else that can be painted the signature corporate orange of KTM. Like an Ariel Atom, the KTM X-Bow has that inside-out feel, a minimalist expression of high performance.

 
The carbon-fiber monocoque weighs 154 pounds and features an integral crashworthy structure. The KTM’s thickly woven carbon fiber might not be aesthetically pleasing, but its satin finish is deeply satisfying on a tactile level. (You just can’t stop stroking the bloody thing.) The wishbone-type suspension arms have been fabricated from aerodynamic sections of steel (aluminum would be too bulky), and the front, racing-type pushrod suspension units improve packaging.
The engine is Audi’s familiar direct-injected, turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4. Apparently KTM had planned to work jointly with Audi on the X-Bow, but the German company’s reservations about a car without street-legal safety equipment (Audi wanted airbags) made it impossible to display the four rings of Audi anywhere on the car. Nevertheless, Audi has made its powertrain available.

 

Three engine options of the turbo 2.0-liter will be offered: the familiar 220-horsepower version, plus the chipped 260-hp and 300-hp alternatives. In either format, that’s a hell of a lot of horsepower for a car that weighs just 1,598 pounds when its 9.2-gallon fuel tank is full of gasoline and it’s equipped with a six-speed manual transmission or 1,644 pounds with its Audi S Tronic dual-clutch gearbox. KTM expects the majority of X-Bows to be spec’d with the twin-clutch gearbox with the shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel. Track-car one-upmanship gets no better than a DSG-equipped 300-hp X-Bow, you’d think.
There’s More to Life Than Looking Good
So KTM is on to a winner. The car has all the ingredients for success and demand is already looking increasingly like it will outstrip supply. Job done then? Not quite.

 

Such is the promise of the 2008 KTM X-Bow that it has to deliver like perhaps no other car of its type. It will have to be sensational to drive — rampant like a supercharged Atom, delicate like a Caterham, stable like a Radical and as well integrated as a Noble. It should deliver if it comes through with the 1.0g-capability on the skid pad that KTM promises. We’ll find out later this year.
And get this: KTM has not ruled out developing another car, which makes the X-Bow less of a car and more of a manifesto for Europe’s newest automobile manufacturer.
